Cape Cod Buccaneers

The Cape Cod Buccaneers were a professional ice hockey team based in Cape Cod, MA. They were an inaugural member of the Atlantic Coast Hockey League and were owned by future WWE CEO Vince McMahon.
==History==

McMahon hired former New Haven Nighthawks right wing Jim Troy to coach〔(hockeydb.com - Jim Troy's hockey statistics )〕 and be the general manager.〔http://books.google.com/books?id=fhNgjI3pSPkC&pg=PA32&lpg=PA32&dq=%22cape+cod+buccaneers%22&source=bl&ots=ayb5c8QF4H&sig=MyDoWKOQar-6SKfBfA7l2MOaTvk&hl=en&ei=-zGZS8P_D4L78Aaauc3GCg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CAUQ6AEwADge#v=onepage&q=%22cape%20cod%20buccaneers%22&f=false〕 In their only season in the ACHL, they went 17-21-1.
On February 1, 1982,〔(A to Z Hockey, Cape Cod Buccaneers )〕 McMahon folded the team, leaving the league with four operational teams. The league went into an emergency meeting, and decided to hold the post-season immediately and based seeding on geography. Coincidentally, the first and four seeds were opponents, as were the second and third seeds.
